Bella Blogs

The scene is an unlit room, lit by the light of a laptop screen which focuses on the silhouette of an unknown young girl. That girl is Bella.

Amy Meredith Is A Band!

Another Australian band Amy Meredith, this time from Sydney, are also pretty completely awesome.
We adore those Aussie bands, don't we?

Pretty much have LOVED these guys ever since they opened for Cobra Starship and Owl City.
See, what happened was this band came out on stage with their hit single Pornstar and blew us all away. Audience participation, the whole bit, and we only knew one song so far. A whole theatre of kids, who came there for either Owl City or Cobra Starship wanted nothing but them.
And after their one hit? Was there silence? Was there a confused fuzzy crowd of teenage girls only being enthused do to their Hot Young Thing lead singer?
No actually, although that does sound strangely reminiscent of Owl City's fabulous set, but we'll get to that in a moment.
After the song of fame and memorised lyrics in which they worked the crowd up too an amazing point of energy and ecstaticalness, they then teach us the chorus of there song Lying in record speed, kept up the energy and absolutely rocked the stage.

All this was followed by a disappointing performance. Note to the lead singer of Owl City, don't be so pissed/stoned that you can't even stand straight if you intend to sing.

Of course I'll say Cobra Starship was amazing, they are actually my favourite band in the entire world.

But really, Amy Meredith is an amazing band. Their song Lying has been released recently, and it's amazing.
Also, Pornstar, check it out.

Also, if anyone feels like giving me a keyboard pro bono, that would be awesome XD
Weighted keys, all this jazz.
Or, this could be my roundabout way of me saying, I am buying one and please wish me luck in the learning process :)

Yves Klien Blue-tastic!

You'll be wondering about the colour of this post, and I'm here to tell you that this colour is International Klein Blue. It was developed by the neo-Dada artist Yves Klein who used colours to convey his concepts. The dry pigment was suspended in resin in order to retain the intensity of the dry pigment and this completely new medium was patented by Yves Klein.
IKB is also the namesake for the Brisbane based band Yves Klein Blue.

Today I'm going Yves Klein Blue Crazy.
Crazy in love that is.
Someone seriously needs to buy these boys some significant kudos gifts.
Yves Klein Blue are an up and coming band with an original, alive, and captivating sound. The indie band is comprised of Micheal Tomlinson on lead vocals and guitar, Sean Cook on bass, Chris Banham on drums and Charles Sale on keyboard.
The title of their debut album, Ragged and Ecstatic seems to sum them up perfectly, even though the quality is far from "Ragged".
There is a vivacious life to this album that many artists try for years to capture, yet these boys have had it from the start. And it's the natural quality of this energy that makes this album amazing.
The sound leaps out at you unlike any other, there is no moment of rest, and the constant movement of sound hooks you in. Every moment of the song is interesting and captivating.
The remarkable thing about this band is how all elements are exemplary and slot together like one unit.
The unusual voice of Micheal Tomlinson rolls with and compliments the music and seems to match the quality of the guitar and yet stands out as something new and different. His voice is as "ragged and ecstatic" as the rest of the band.
Combine this with hard hitting and intelligent lyrics that are relevant to and resounds with current Australian youth culture and you get something brilliant and almost beyond description. The added magic of these lyrics, however, is not that relevance, it's that each song has a message and they don't muck around or soften it down. Even though the topic varies, each is tackled with seriousness, composure and a certain quality that appears to have no name.
I recommend Polka, Getting Wise, and Summersheets if you can find it.
Overall, if you seem to be looking for something in your music and you don't know much except that you aren't finding it, I'd take a leap of faith with YKB.
You might just find that something.

Waiting for A Vacation; and you should too!

Yo, it's Bella, and I'm listening to The Young Veins. Have you ever wondered what happened to panic at the disco?
Well, The Young Veins is what happened to the Ryan Ross and Jon Walker half anyways. They have picked up Andy Soukal on bass, Nick Murray on drums and Nick White on keyboard, while Ross has moved to lead vocals and rythm guitar and Walker now holds the spot of lead guitarist.
(Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith have continued Panic At The Disco with new temperary additions Ian Crawford on guitar and Dallon Weekes on bass and Im also lovin their song New Perspectives)
If you liked Panic's Fever You Can't Sweat Out, I'd like to warn you this is completely different. You might not like this at. all. But it's worth a try. I personally loved Fever but I honestly think this band is gonna make an album a million times better. The album is due out June 8th and is called Take A Vacation. I have the date marked on my calendar and I cannot wait.
Even If it ISN'T better then Fever, I thought it was a whole load better then Nine In The Afternoon, which is the only song I listened to of the last Panic album (so I'm not attacking the whole album, cause naturally I don't know it). I was so bored by the fusion of the two deffinate seperate styles that like a lot of people I boycotted the band.
Too me it was like they searched through and took the mildest parts of Fever and the mildest parts of the beatles music and lumped them together as one musical idea, and while the song was good, it lacked the vivaciousness and energy that are the signatures of each seperate sound. The substance the Panic line up brought was innevitable but it was still lacking something integral. It was the same fabric but they'd used bleach instead of colourstay. Panic's colours had run.
The Young Veins are now persuing an honest and raw sound, which is accompanied by the honesty and life of Ross' lyrics.
It's a complete success. The life that was lacking in the half half Nine is present in this one hundred percent tribute to sound and emotion. I keep saying the word honesty, this suggests that either I could benifit from a thesaurus or that in some obscure way this music really is just that, honest.
The sound is lively, fun and bordered by Ross' blunt intelligent lyrics, and while reminiscent of the beatles it is truly their own.
At the moment the song Change is being given by the band to listeners and is available for free legal download. I recomend you give it a try. (the lyrics are avaible on The Young Veins Myspace which is the link I've given you. helpful Bella :D)
Expecially if you love the real sound of The Beatles.
Other songs that you can listen to by The Young Veins are Young Veins(Die Tonight) and The Other Girl
Don't just discount me as a Ryan Ross fangirl and leave it at that. Ryan Ross is an amazing lyricist and singer and I don't know anything about guitar so I can't comment there, but I don't want his babies. I want Gerard Way's babies :D
I am one hundred percent a Young Veins fanatic. This sound is amazing, and deserves people who love music to support it. Forget about who, when, why, or where and listen to the amazing music with an open mind. This is music that means something, regardless of who wrote it, and it's music that means things that make me, and probably you, happiest.
Also, expect some news on Yves Klien Blue, the new Panic! At The Disco and Amy Meridith. For the moment all you need to know is that they're great. Dive right in.

On Track And On Pillows.

Hey there, riddle me this:
Why does the pillow cover fall off??? And not just any pillow cover? My FAVOURITE pillow cover???
And it's always in the middle of the night. When I'm not moving. -_-

Well, on track for once in the history of this blog.
I have a really neat new story by the name of Jane Doe, exploring the fascinating concept of when exactly one loses their identity, and when, in fact, they become an unknown, when they are just another body.
A small personification of Jane Doe in a way.
Written in 3rd person.
Jane Doe Written by ColouredInRainbows AKA me.
Leave a comment; make a girl smile :)

Another story I have is Countdown, a quaint little exploration of the link between popularity and loneliness. It calls to attention the assumption that with a lot of people around you, you must also have a lot of friends, and a lot of confidence. It relies on the reader to assume that the un-named dull, and insecure protagonist is Daisy Jones, an unusually named boy who sits in the priority seating of his school bus introduced in the introduction, and that his bright, flamboyant and confident romancer is Oliver, the stereotypical popular boy. But is it really that way?
It also delves, or rather, dives into the idea of obsession, and how a lonely boy will latch onto affection, and his rash reactions when his idealised and obsessed over love interest does not return his affections as quickly as he gave them; how obsession distorts the protagonists veiws and reasoning.
Written in 1st from the POV of the protagonist.

Oh, and a mibba account should be useful. Takes a few minutes, and there is access to millions of brilliant stories and talented authors just waiting to wow the world :D

Explore it if you're feeling brave. Because through the lines of my bluster sits an insecure girl willing the world to love her writing, not a talented author waiting to wow the world.
XO Bella.

The best of us make happiness out of misery

Fudge it y'all.

Who said friends were there when it counts? Cause id like to shove their motivated 12 year old self right back into mummy's womb to do a little more growing.

Lately... There has been nothing. They're just not there. There not talking to me. They're "forgetting" to invite me. They're not even acknowledging that I'm the same room as them.

Put me in a hole and hand me a shotgun, I'd like to die now please miss.

Oh Freckle, Freckle, What Makes You So Special?

Guess what Darlings???

I totally just one a prize for my post modern short story. That's pretty cool and hurrah, it's nice to be recognised.
But... There is an awards ceremony.I wrote a story, big whoop, it wasn't even my best, so why the pomp and circumstance?
All I know is that by the end of this I'm probably going to have circumcised a hefty amount of non Jewish full grown males... Yes, that sounds violent, it is rather overboard, but it really conveys how little i want or need an awards ceremony right now.
They're trying to build suspense by not even telling me what place I've got. Exasperating.

I Kinda know what I wanna do now though. Bella wants to write. Bella wants to write, all day long, and earn lots of money from it. When Bella is not writing, Bella wants to paint, all day long, and earn lots of money from it.

Oh Bella... What art thou if not shallow, needy and impudent?
Bella, thou art nought more then body.

Watchmen Soundtrack

Hi There, Hoe there. THIS is Desolation Row by My Chemical Romance [on the Watchmen Soundtrack]

If you read my last post then you are already aware of my fixation with MCR. I'd just like to say that this last video has not decreased that yearningtobeinpants. Yehs, that is not a word, but I claim poetic licence. And who's going to argue with me?

Seeing as how no one reads these sparodic dedications to my devilish wit and charm, I'd say no one.

Note to blog followers [laughs@@joke]: Gerard Way is teh SEHX and I dont care what matty says. Specially in this one. You must all agree. There is no other oppinion. My Chemical Romance rocks oldschool [do we agree this clip is slightly oldschool? IMO yehs. In your's?]
